Description

:target: If you haven't read the Hunger Games/is about to start reading/have started but not finished I advice you not to read this description as it contains spoilers! :target:

__________________________________________________

So I read all the books, died inside and emotionally so many times :saddummy:

I made this as a tribute to those who died (a few of them), some of them fully drawn of my own image, others I read the description to draw. I divided them in groups, the quadrate including the Star Squad, the top row people part of the rebellion in the 75th Game, second row some of the people I mourn the most, and third row some tributes from the 74th Game that I mourn + Prim, who never participated in the Games
From top left:

1. Boggs - I didn't realize I liked him before he died. I wouldn't believe he really did die first, he was someone to rely on and someone who really seamed to care

2. Jackson - She was brave and sacrificed herself to help the rest of the team to survive

3. Finnick - I really didn't like him at first but I liked him sooner than Katniss did and he saved Peeta. I love his love story with Annie Cresta and I was so happy when they married. He's such a funny guy, and lovely in many ways. When he died that horrible way I screamed. I wouldn't believe it, it hurt so bad. He should have been spared, his life would've been so beautiful.

4. Chaff - He was one of Haymitches friends and he was good to Peeta and Katniss, a friendly and a brave man. I'm really sad that he was killed before the rebels were able to rescue him along with Katniss.

5. Female Morphling - She sacrificed herself for Peeta, being a part of the rebellion. She past away while Peeta was talking to her about paintings and the colors he painted with. It was quite beautiful, and very sad.

6. Wiress - She was very intelliget and observing, and a good friend of Beetee and Katniss.

7. Mags - She was Finnick's and Annie Cresta's mentor and she volonteered for the 75th Games in the place of Annie. Also she sacrificed herself for Peeta. She was very clever and kind and the thought of her being a former mentor is making it harder to process.

8. Blight - I never got to know him, but he was part of the rebellion and a friend of Johanna Mason.

9. Homes - Part of the Star Squad and was killed together with Finnick and Castor.

10. Leeg 1 - Part of the Star Squad. She stayed behind together with Jackson to buy the others some time to escape.

11. Leeg 2 - Also part of the Star Squad. She died on the fourth day by a trap.

12. Portia - She was executed along with Peeta's prep team on live television, which was really horrible. She was Cinna's partner and Peeta's stylist, and to me she was significant in many ways.

13. Cinna - My absolute favourite character. I love his kindness and his encouraging spirit. He is full of the hope you need in the Games, and I think he is the one I mourn the most. I was hoping he was still alive for so long, I missed him immediately after he was taken away.

14. Lavinia - The Avox Girl who Katniss and Gale saw in the woods. Her story is so sad, I'm terryfied thinking about it. She really deserved safety after all she'd been through.

15. Darius - I always liked him, and when Katniss and Peeta saw him in the Capitol, turned into an Avox, I just went blank for a while. It was horrible, and the way he was killed, together with Lavinia, was so horrible and humiliating. I've cried a lot.

16. Madge - Katniss considers her being her only friend in District 12 besides from Gale, and Madge was loyal to her, thinking of her as a friend as well.

17. Messalla - Cressida's partner and a part of the Star Squad, a rebel. His death is really upsetting, as the others can do nothing but watch.

18. Mitchell - Part of the Star Squad. Mitchell becomes known as the worst actor among the group which makes both me and the squad laugh. He was accidently pushed into a trap by Peeta, and despite Gale's and Leeg 1's attempt to help him, he is not spared. Peeta feels guilty and want the rest of the squad to leave him because of this but they refuse.

19. Castor - Pollux's brother, a cameraman in the Star Squad. I liked him and Pollux very much, so I was really sad when he was killed along with Homes and Finnick.

20. The Boy of District 3 - He was a tribute in the 74th Game and was killed by Cato because his mines blew up all their supplies. I never knew who he was, I just remember his death very clearly as I reacted strongly to it. The fear he must've felt when Cato was raging and he realized he was going to kill him, his desperate try to escape before Cato caught up with him and broke his neck.

21. Rue - Oh, my sweet, dear Rue. She was the female tribute from district 11 in the 74th Game and she was adorable. She and Katniss became friends in the arena and made an alliance even though they knew they had to break it sooner or later. They made a great team and together they were able to weaken the careers. But she was captured and killed by the boy from district 1, whom Katniss killed imediately. Before Rue died Katniss sang a song for her and put flowers around her. Rest in peace, Rue.

22. Thresh - The male tribute from district 11 in the 74th Game. He kind of rescued Katniss as a 'thanks for looking out for Rue', but he was later killed by Cato.

23. Foxface - Her death was not very sad, mostly unfortunate. She ate some poisonous berries. She was very smart, and it's always sad when a tribute doesn't come home to the family. All the tributes through all time should be mourned, they were sentnced to death or got severe traumas because of the cruelty of the Captol (president Snow)

24. Primrose - Katniss's little sister, the reason Katniss volunteered, which lead to uprisings and a rebellion. Despite all of Katniss's attempts, all her effort and all her struggle, Prim dies in the end. I thought it ruined the whole story, it all felt in vain. I guess that was what the author was aiming for, but this just sucked, kind of amature-like. It wasn't well composed. I'm really sad Prim died, but most of the time I just don't accept it because it wasn't bringing anything to the table, it was unnecessary and it made the book... just bad.
Prim should've lived. She reminds me of a little girl I know, she is brave and kind and she is so lovable

Some of the characters may look nothing like they're described, but you know how it is sometimes in books. You read a name or an action of a person and a face just pops up in you mind, so yo ignore the real looks of the character :dummy:

Anyway, I have never ever in my life cried so much as I did reading this trilogy. I strongly recommend it! Despite the sadness and sorrow the story brings, you like it, because it's provoking and there are so many lovely persons among all the bad.

I literally hated when Prim died and it's only partially because her death made EVERYTHING Katniss worked for in vain, underscoring everything in the series. My problem with her death is that I felt nothing. I blinked and she was dead. I had to re-read to confirm it. There as nothing to her death and it was a huge let down even I the movie and that just pisses me off. She is such a phenomenal writer and Prim deserved better than what she got. I mean i cried for Finnick. The moment those muts were introduced, I knew something was going to go down and my heart was going to be broken! That was a wonderful last chapter, so to speak, to his life. It was well written and so powerful, Prim was basically reduced to a footnote.
